The Docks
The Docks is a one-of-a-kind interactive experience with digital trees and a flowing river located in the center court of Southlake Mall in Merrillville, IN. Five LED blades feature abstract trees with shimmering leaves that flutter as shoppers pass by, swirling down into an LED paneled river below where virtual fish and flower blossoms float downstream. Visitors can create and add their own fish and blossoms to the river at any of the six tablet stations; a seventh station at the head of the river features a stone-skipping game where players are challenged to skip a stone the entire length of the river. The entire virtual landscape changes colors throughout the the day as well as seasonally, keeping the experience fresh and engaging.
“This unique element offers a relaxing ambience for our shoppers, It is intended to be a place for families to gather, take a break from shopping, grab a coffee and enjoy playing with the digital river.”
